Laminate your fabric for a messy crowd.

In this dining nook, both the wallpaper and the fabric seen on the window seat bench are laminated, making them entirely wipeable.

It requires a bit of extra skill from your wallpaper hanger or upholsterer to work with materials that have been laminated (I’d check with them first to make sure they’re up for the challenge). And I use it very sparingly, as the fabric feels like it’s coated in plastic once it’s laminated. But it can be a way to bring color and pattern into a space that requires only the most durable materials, like for this family with messy kids and wild dogs.
